Is Having A Mentor In Life Important?
Answers From Quora…
A question from Quora answered by Jack Comer, Lighthouse Associate Elect
Why did I feel compelled to answer this Question?
Looking at my life I wasn’t particularly happy with my future prospects as a plumber. I looked towards what people in my work did 4 to 5 years down the line and thought what in the world am I doing with my life? I didn’t want to be constantly stressed, to live every day repeatedly until eventually retiring, having shown nothing for my life besides grey hairs, a mortagage and deflated sense of self-worth.
I wanted to share that experience online of what it is like to be mentored and cared for. So I can use my experience, as I have done here in answering this question, to help others see the value and utmost importance of being mentored and how it has revolutionised my life.
Since being mentored I have had the opportunity to look at my fallibilities and shortcomings and have been supported in growing my self-awareness, conscience, independent will and creative imagination. Getting a grasp and handle on my life and where I want to lead myself to create a life worth living.
